Option group problem, can you have too many?

I am making a form, Ok, its a really big form with over 90 fields, most of
which are option groups, they are meant to be check boxes with 'always'
'often' or 'seldom' like an opinion poll I guess. AnywayI got all the way to
97 and used the wizard like I've been doing since 1 and suddenly it some up

The Microsoft Jet database engine does not recognise 'Check 1183' as a valid
field name or expression.

I don't even know what this means but the only option is OK and when I hit
it, the option group is created with only 'Always' as the option. I have made
some and deleted them while I was working out how to ue option groups or when
I had entered the values incorrectly. I have been working on this data base
for months, its really involved and compliced but this problem has me
stupped. Is there maybe a way to delete unused option groups from the
database so I can still use them,I m only guessing that I have run out of tag
numbers.

OK, so I copy and paste the whole thing into a new form and now the message
reads the same thing only with 'Check 7' instead and it gives me 'Always' and
'often'.
