operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open

When I try to paste my backed up cookies and index.dat file into my
Cookies folder, I am unable to overwrite the old Index.dat file with
the backed up one. I get this error message:

"The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a
user-mapped section open"

What does this mean?

How can I shut this off or at least temporarily deactivate it so that
I can replace my original Index.dat file with the backed up one?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Log in as a different Admin account. Problem is you are logged on as the user
that the dat file is meant for and is currently loaded.

Thanks for the reply.

Do you mean to log in as Administrator? If so, how is this done?

There is only one account on my computer -- me. Normally when I start
up my computer, I bypass logging in at all by just booting up directly
to my account and exiting the same way when I shut down my computer. I
do this so I won't have to deal with passwords, and so forth.

Try booting to safe mode (press F8 at beginning of boot to invoke Advanced
Startup Options). Once to the safe mode logon screen log on as Administrator.
Either that or create a new account to log onto. Once done with it you can
delete the account you created.
