Operating System choice at startup

Guest

I installed a second operating system on a second partition on my hard drive
to use temporarily with another computer. I have now successfully uninstalled
that os, and deleted the partition using the Bootit NextGeneration utility. I
amstill given a choice of operating systems at startup - and the default
choice is the vacant one. How can I get rid of this? Thanks.

You need to edit the boot.ini file to remove the entry for the removed
entry.

These articles discuss how to do this with various OS.

Hi David,

Click start/run, type msconfig and click ok. Go to the boot.ini tab. Click
on the line that loads the one you want to become the default, then click
"set as default". Now click "check all boot paths", it should offer to
remove the unnecessary one. Click apply/ok and reboot to finish.

Click start | run | msconfig. On the boot.ini tab clicl on Check all
Boot Paths. It will search the drives and indicate the entry that is no
longer valid. Delete it.
