Opening zip files

When I installed office 2003, I used to open zip files
directly from outlook; since today I am not able to do
it. I first need to save the file to disk. Does anyone
knows if this is a configuration issue for outlook 2003
and What should I do to open Zip files without saving it
first?

The enhanced security in Outlook 2003 requires that you save files to disk
before opening, giving your AV a chance to scan it before you spring a new
virus on the immediate world.

Is there a way I can change this? should I uninstall
latest office update or XP security patch?
