opening spreadsheet

Spreadsheet takes over 20 minutes to open. Others on the same computer with
more meg's of memory open in 2 min or less. if i open task manager while
it's opening task Manager says it's not responding, but if i wait it does
eventualy open and works fine. When I run the help "detect and repair"
program it shuts down excel, on this spreadsheet only.

Any suggestions would be appriciated

Some questions: Is this file located on a network drive? Does it have
macros? Does someone else have this file open?

If it is on a network drive copy it to your local drive and see how long it
takes to open. (may be a network issue)

If it has macros, hold the shift key down when opening

Make sure no other user has the file open.
