Opening PPT in edit mode from ie browser/web address

I'm running Windows 2000/Office 2000. I'm trying to open
a ppt file in the IE browser using a web address but it
opens in presentation mode instead of edit mode. Is there
a way I can tell it to open in edit mode and not as a
presentation/show? FYI, under My Computer - File
Types, "Open" for ppt File Type says, "c:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\Office\POWERPNT.EXE" "%1". It
opens in edit mode when I'm opening from Internet Explorer
but not when I'm in IE browser opening it with web address.
