Opening links from e-mail

I've just installedMicrosoft Office Enterprise, and am unable to open links
that are in email messages. Can someone tell me what I need to do?

I get a message stating, "General failure. The URL was: whatever.
Application not found."

Reset your web browser.

browser?

I figured out how to reset my browser and did so, and am still having the
same problem. Can you suggest anything else? Thank you.
