Opening HTML images in Mail

When I get an email that has HTML graphics in it, selecting the email causes
Mail to shut down by itself. I've tried turning off McAfee's email scanning,
but Mail still shuts down. This didn't happen on my old computer running OE
and XP. Any thoughts will be appreciated...Thanks
