opening attachment

I recieved a pc game in my e-mail. when opening the attachment to download
the game I got the message ' this file does not have a program associated
with it for performing this action. Create an association in the folder
options control panel'. I looked at the folder options and do not understand
what it is I need to do.

What extension does the attachment have?

The VERY first thing to do, is to save it to your HDD and SCAN IT with an
up-to date Anti-virus program. THEN worry about what to do with it, after.

the extension is .RaR this means it is an archive file, (compressed to save
space)
and download time, you need to download and install some kind of
uncompressor program ie WinRaR, and this will resolve the no program
associated with it.
once winRar is installed, you will need to learn how to us it to unpack your
other programs.
