Opening an Existing Web Site on the Internet for the First Time in FP2003

D

Dennis Hughes

I've been asked to help with an existing web site.

I open FrontPage2003, select open site and type in the url, but can't make
it accept an existing site on the web.

I tried opening the web site in ie6 and selecting edit in FP, but I only get
the page, not the web site.

Could this be a symptom of no FP extensions? I am not asked for user name &
password.

The help in FP for opening a web site doesn't seem to address this
particular situation. It refers to folders/webs on the hard drive.

Thanks,

Dennis

FP server extensions must be installed on the host.
The host must give you author permissions to open the site.
