Opening a Secured mdb with Automation

Is there a way to use automation from one Access file to
open another when the target mdb is secured with a
different mdw file from the first? Access Developer's
Handbood covers doing this using the Shell command and
command line parameters but it is only valid if one
instance of Access is open and I will have two. I have no
problem opening an unsecured target mdb file with
automation, I just don't know how to get into a secured
one.

I want to be able to change form and report properties in
a remote database. As another alternative, is there a way
to do that without using automation?
