Opening a new document unminimizes already open minimuzed document

If I have a half a dozen Word documents open, all minimized and I open a new
document, Word insists on unminimizing all of the "shrunken" documents. This
is annoying.

Indeed it is. Apparently you can avoid it by not having the document
titles show in the taskbar, but the cure is worse than the disease.
(At least the new one ends up on top.)
