click on the corner of the window and drag it to the size you want, then
click on the X top right hand corner, all the windows should now open up that
size... pete ;-)

That's the same question I have. Did you find an answer to it?

I was told that if you expand the window and then close it be going to File
and Exit, not using the X in the upper right corner, the window should open
up in full screen the next time. This, however, does not work.

Any advice?

if you grab the edges of your page and drag it out to maximize the screen,
then tick the maximize screen box in the upper right corner, that should do
it. you may have to do it with all new pages at first, ie. my doc's ect.

I don't have this problem, but I've heard two other ways of accomplishing
this. One, is to expand the window and close it using File, but make sure
this is the last window to be expanded and closed. I also heard, and IIRC,
this is what I once did, is to expand the window while using the control
key. I think that's what worked for me.

Windows remembers the size of the last Normal IE window closed.
Open such a link.
Don't use the maximize button.
Stretch the edges/corners so that the window fills the screen.
Close all other IE windows.
Close the stretched window.

If that doesn't do it try the REG file here:

You must first of all, go to control panel---folder options---view
tab---and select --remember each folders view settings.
