Open Record

I would like to know when I open a record through my form if the record is
currently being edited by someone else in my workgroup. I don't need to
really know who would have the record open, just if it is open for edit. My
application settings are record locking. Is there such code that would
permit me to determine if the record open for edit has a lock placed on it
due to it being open by another user?

My database is split and there are 5 users. On a couple instances, myself
and another user apparently have had the same record open without knowing and
when we went to save the record the error message "another user has this
record open etc..." popped up.

My form is unbound and controlled by code for textbox population.
