Open in New Window - size of window

Using Win XP and Internet Explorer 6.0.29. Norton aintivirus kept up to date
(weekly downloads) full system scan produced no problems.
When I use open in new window it is opening in a small window. If I enlarge
and close it does not remember the reset size but always opens in the small
size. I have only found two places in teh registry which control window
placement and neither of these control the Open in New Window.
Any ideas how to control this, I suspect a web site has reset something but
don't know what.
Many thanks

Use your mouse to stretch the window to full size, do not use the maximize
icon. Then click File and Close. This has always worked for me in IE, OE
and Windows Explorer. It has even worked in many applications that I use.

Thanks for the suggestion BR549 thats the way I have always resized as well
but this time it's not working - windows will not remember the new size
whatever I try. I wonder if there is a setting to 'remember window size' or
something similar.
Any help would be very useful
Many thanks

Many thanks for the help - this combined with a suggestion from someone else
that I shut the window (making sure it was the last one open) by using the X
(top right hand corner) and the control key has worked.

Most grateful for your help
