Open and Save As dialog boxes- change view

when I have to open a "Open" or "Save As" dialog box, it
always appears in standard "list" view... BUT always in
reverse alphabetical order. in order to help me search I
need to change to "details" view and then click on
the "name" column to sort. I dont mind the "list" view (of
course I'd rather have "details" by default), but how can
i change it to alphabetical order? It's very annoying.

The view cannot be changes permanently. The work around for that is adding
a folder to the Places bar at root level. For the alpha order:

Go to Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/View/Reset All Folders.
or: To resolve this behavior, and reset the default sort order:

Right-click Start, click Explore, and then click drive C.
On the View menu, click Details.

Click the Name column to sort items by name, press and hold down the CTRL
key, and then quit Windows Explorer by clicking Close in the upper-right
corner of the screen. Release the CTRL key. Restart your computer.

Note: You must perform these steps exactly as they are listed. For example,
do not quit Windows Explorer by clicking Exit on the File menu.

Kelly,
Thanks so much, I use always use your site but I didn't
see that one, I'm not a noob, but I am quite fussy
(sometimes too much) about the way my windows operates and
displays itself... It amazes me sometimes how you dig up
some of this stuff... Once again, thanks........
