Well it would be Read-Only obviously, but you should be able to open it as you
would any other Access file. You do have Access installed on your system
right?

You'll have to open it in Exclusive Mode (or is it Read Only Mode?)..
otherwise, Access will try to create an LDB file on the CD.. and it
can't.
