Open a File created in other Operating System

I don't know is there dual boot system in my Computer. However my Computer is
the part of different Servers (Network). And there are different operating
system too.
Daily I created a file name with "dumy.txt" after every five minutes and
same is save in Solaris envoirment and there I open it and copy the contents
of file and then paste it in Windows Note pad and then re-open the newly
created file in Excel. I want to know is there any way to open the "dumy.txt"
file created in Solaris directly in Excel. If yes then guide me plz.

It is not necessary to open in Excel just in windows I mean how can I access
the said file.
