Whether I print 1 page or multiple pages, they all have a #1 in top right
hand corner. How can I fix it. I want the numbers to be sequential. I
have windows XP Internet Explorer 7.

When Vanguard asked what application ....? He wanted to know what program
you were printing from not what printer you have. Various programs have
default settings in Headers and footers area that give the page numbers.
Without knowing what program (application) you are using no one can help
you.

IE 7 is a web browser application. It's default header and footer
information is located here: From any web page, click on the down arrow next
to the Printer icon. Then click on page setup. In the window that opens you
will see in the middle the Header and footer information defaults. The
standard header should read "&w&bPage &p of &P" without the quotes. If
yours is different that will be your problem.

Any other program please specify.

It is with anything I print, Webpages, Word Documents, Text Documents and whatever else. It's a constant.

If I am printing one page, I don't want it numbered at all.
If I'm printing several pages, I want the numbers to go 1 of 3, 2 of 3 and 3
of 3.
Even though I click on "pages" and enter a sequece such as 1 of 3 on the Print Page I still keep getting 1 on every page.

I've had the printer for several months, however, it was happening even
before I got this printer so I don't think the printer is the problem.

I changed the header settings to what you suggested, and now, no numbers
print at all.

I have Microsoft Works 2000

Well, at least you don't have a 1 on each and every page anymore.

Seriously, I am now assuming that the page number you are trying to get to
print out is when you are using IE 7 and attempting to print out web pages
and not using other programs. Since you were able to print header
information before, I suspect you may have mistyped the information I posted
(remember not to include the quotes) and the spaces and lack of spaces and
the capitalization are important. The best way to put the information in
the window is to copy and paste from my post to the window (highlight the
post part by holding a left click at the beginning of the text and dragging
to the end of the text. Press and hold Ctrl key while tapping the C key
(called Ctrl+C) while the data is highlighted. Move to the window in IE 7
setup and highlight the present material there. Do Ctrl+V to paste the
information into the window.

Let me know if you have any further information so I or someone else may
help.

Page numbering is (1) relative to printing plans
and (2) executed by whatever software you use
for writiiing. Seek advice in a software-focused
newsgroup. You will not catch the eye of WP
experts in a newsgroup for the Operating System.

Hi Krystal

Try asking your question at Microsoft.public.word.numbering.
