OOA - Interval between responses?

My hazy memory suggests that an OOA response is sent every n number of days
but I can find no evidence that I'm correct. Does anyone know if that applies
and if so, what's the interval between responses? If that doesn't make sense,
the example is:
I send an email to fred.bloggs on Monday and get an OOA response that he's
on vacation. If I send him another email in say a week's time, will I get the
same OOA response if he's not returned to the office and reset his OOA?

Default is "once per session" - as in he'd need to disable and re-enable OOF
for it to reply to you again. There are utilities the admin can install that
will reset this daily or weekly.

message was received from one user on maternity leave, with an interval of
just 2 days shy of a month. Now it could be that the user came back to the
office and disabled the OOA temporarily but I'd have to check and it would be

Could she have used OWA? Did you reboot the server? Rebooting = new
session; it can be reset using OWA.

My recollection is that the OOA response is once each 24 hours.

Further research indicates that one must toggle the OOA off then on again in
order to restart the responses. Otherwise it's once only.
