Only 127 gigs of my 250 gig SATA hard drive is showing up. The previous
version of windows installed is 2000 with service pack 4. I'm running an
intel dq965gf board with duo core e6600 processor and vista home premium.

What does Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Disk
Management show for the drive?

Are you using NTFS or FAT32? I bet the latter!

Use the Convert utility to change from FAT32 to NTFS and that should
solve that and give you much more protected file system.

I'm not in VISTA at the moment so use Search [conver NTFS] under Help
and you should find instructions -- in XP it's a command line function.

Like any fundemental drive operation make a backup first and make sure
that you have recovery disks to reinstall VISTA and your applications,
just in case Murphy is awake and waiting.
