I have been fighting this for 2 months now. I have an
online subscription to McAfee Antivirus. On reboot or
restart or coming off standby I get an "NT ONLine Access
scanner" error message. If I send it to MS, they direct
me to McAfee.
McAfee has no real idea what the problem is. I have been
told it was because of remaining Norton stuff. I removed
everything---even removed and reinsatlled XP. Still same
problem. They told me I had a virus and to go to safe
mode and check. I did. No virus. Have had me remove parts
of McAfee and then reboot and reinstall. All to no avail.
I keep running around in circles with them. McAfee has an
online group too, and nobdy there has a clue. On guy has
had it for a year (the same problem) and McAfee has not
resolved it.
Has anyone here had the problem and found the cause?? Any
ideas??
