ongoin McAfee error problem

I have been fighting this for 2 months now. I have an
online subscription to McAfee Antivirus. On reboot or
restart or coming off standby I get an "NT ONLine Access
scanner" error message. If I send it to MS, they direct
me to McAfee.
McAfee has no real idea what the problem is. I have been
told it was because of remaining Norton stuff. I removed
everything---even removed and reinsatlled XP. Still same
problem. They told me I had a virus and to go to safe
mode and check. I did. No virus. Have had me remove parts
of McAfee and then reboot and reinstall. All to no avail.
I keep running around in circles with them. McAfee has an
online group too, and nobdy there has a clue. On guy has
had it for a year (the same problem) and McAfee has not
resolved it.

Has anyone here had the problem and found the cause?? Any
ideas??
 
Sorry, that's not it, went trhough that whole route and
could not get all norton junk off pc. I was in contact
with norton too---followed all their steps. Finally I
removed and reinstalled windows and then went directly to
mcaffee and downloaded theirs---it is impossible for it
to be a conflict. no other anti virus ever on the new
install. The Norton adivice is the first advice mcafee
gives----it never, ever helped at all. It has to be a bug
in the software as far as I can tell.
 
It says NT Online Acess scanner had a problem begin.. (I
am translating this from Japaese, so it is not the same
as the English message would be). When I click the send
to MS button, MS directs me to McAfee.

Go to event viewer (type it in help if you don't know how) and get the exact error message. It will look similar to this

Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 6.0.2800.1106, faulting module mshtml.dll, version 6.0.2800.1264, fault address 0x000bc4a5.

Once we have this info we'll find out quickly if anyone has fixed it before.
