Has anyone used microsoft OneLive.com? It has a free service to scan your pc
for virus and/or correct corrupted registry files.

I"ve been having problem doing system restore. My pc might be virus
infected already. Currently, I don't have virus scan installed.

I done everything as suggested by the generous posters here. From taking
ownership of all the files and folders of the corrupted administrator profile
and then copying it to another administrator profile. All this done on safe
mode.

I still can't log in on normal mode, it always log me in in the system
default profile, for the mean time its' building up enormous temp user
folders in the system.

Kindly enlighten me on this onelive.care.

Go through these cleaning steps:
1... Click start >> Control Panel >> Double Click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options, on the IE Properties window
you will see these Options:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs
| Advanced .

Click on General Tab (1st Tab on the left) and you will see a Button called
[ Clear History ..] click on it to clear your History caches, then click on
[Delete Files..] to delete Internet Files created over the time, click on [
Delete Cookies...] to delete your cookies left by visiting websites.

Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.

= Then try to Disable the Add-Ons on your Browser somehow installed on your
browser, On how to disable the Add-ons follow this:
Click on Programs Tab and then click the Manage Add-Ons Button there Disable
the None/Not Verified Plug-ins/Add-ons ( you need to Renable them one-by-one
later and see which is the culprit .

start up scan to rid of the viruses on your machine.

You can send your log to one of many forums on the internet to help you with
the log.

Are you referring to Windows Live OneCare Safety scans (onecare.live.com)?
I'd recommend running the Protection scan ONLY!

Why don't you have an anti-virus application installed? How long have you
been running without an anti-virus application?

Is the Windows Firewall enabled?

Is Automatic Updates enabled and is your machine fully patched at Windows
Update?

What System Restore problems are you having?

they have the full install
free for a trial period

however, though the above
is safe to run, there can
be other causes attributing
to the issue you are experiencing.

for example, faulty hardware
can cause the o.s. to be
unstable and mis interpreted
as an infection.

further, the above programs
don't really help with configuring
your system, that is if the o.s.
has been reconfigured either
intentionally or inadverdently.

perhaps, what you might be
looking for is the method to
repair your operating system.

a repair installation uses your
windows xp setup cd and
analyzes your o.s. on the hd.

then if there are any missing
or corrupted system files, then
the repair process will replace
them with genuine ones from
the cd.
