One site won't resolve

The main page I am trying to use is www.attws.com which
redirects to https://www.attwireless.com/ocs/index.jhtml?
_requestid=54593 with the new requestid each time

Then after going to several different places on that site
(perhaps 3 pages), I can't browse the site anymore for
some period of time; perhaps an hour, perhaps a day,
perhaps until I make some changes and then the same thing
all over again.

Now when I went there, not knowing *exactly* what you clicked on to get to
that page, I bounced around a bit and found that I had to ask for a phone
plan and checked it out. That's when I gt the 'requestid=xxxx" part. But not
sur what you did after that...

Maybe its a setting in your browser ? Have you ever installed anything on
this machine altering browser functionality? Have you checked for adware?
BHOs? Trojans? That sort of stuff?

It happens on any system connected to my network
(including the server) and therefore using my server (AD
Domain Controller) as the primary DNS. Therefore it is
not likely that it is a browser issue. I even tried
resetting all the browser options to default on one of the
machines. As suggested by one of the other MVPs I made
https://www.attwireless.com and http://www.attws trusted
sites.

As far as needing the number and stuff, I try going around
w/o logging on to my account and the same thing happens.

I have not added anything to two of the systems in quite a
long time.

I have used both Adaware, Spybot S&D, and CWShredder along
w/ my AV (Symantec Corporate Edition) to check for any bad
guys haning out on any of the systems.

So you're saying if you use ONLY the ISP's DNS it all works fine?

No,
If I connect from a dialup and not from one of my network
computers it works just fine. But it does not matter what
I put in for DNS on any workstation on the network, the
behavoir is the same. Right now I am on a Windows XP Pro
workstation. I have set the DNS to the servers IP only,
to the ISP's DNS numbers only, and to get the DNS
automatically from the server. It works exactly the
same. I have done it from a Windows 2000 workstation and
from a Windows 98 workstation.

I have gone to others of my clients that use the same ISP,
and are basically set up the same as I am and it works
fine from there.

It is only for workstations connected to my network
(whether members of the domain or not) that have this
problem. And it continues to only be this one site as
near as we can tell. Nobody has had any trouble with any
other site.

Sighhhhhhhhh

Just as a test, try reducing the MTU on your machine to something like 1350
or even lower, to see if that helps, I've seen cases like this where a bad
cable made it to where I had to reduce the MTU to 1200. It could very well
be a bad network cable between the router and your ISP. Reducing the MTU
might help in that case.

It is not DNS, if it were you would not be able to connect to the site the
first time.

I started a new thread with the same name. It would not
let me post a reply below Kevin's last reply.
