One problem, One question

Hello all
I have recently installed XP Pro c/w SP2. Office 2003 Professional,
Visio 2003 professional.
I have a Zoom external V92 modem, and at first I had no problems,
trying to get online was just a matter of firing up my ISP.
Over the last week or so, though, to use the modem I have to boot up,
wait 2 or 3 minutes then access the modem through Control Panel,
select Diagnostics and query the modem before it will work. If I dont
do this, the system says the modem is not there or not working. The
modem is switched on and connected to a phone line when I boot up.
Also I would like to double boot XP Pro and Win2K pro. I have
Partition Magic 7 so can create partitions. I use a Logitech cordless
USB mouse and keyboard, and from what I have seen, neither BootMagic
or BootitNG support these. Is there a boot manager available that will
operate with USB keyboard and mouse on NTFS partitions without having
to create a FAT partition for the manager ?

Whenever a program or peripheral "Stops" working, the first thing to
check is the System Event Log. To view, Click Start, Run (Type )
Eventvwr.msc [Press Enter].
Errors are shown by Red Icons and the events are logged by latest
events first. Double-Click each instance to get the details box on the
event. All events have a numerical code that you can reference at
http://www.eventid.net/

As to Dual booting, If your are in a position to spend a little money
I would recommend Microsoft Virtual PC. The current version doesn't
support USB but allows full featured use of older OS's within XP
itself. It keeps your base OS fully functional and doesn't require boot
managers, et all. To use VPC you just need disk space and memory
requirements are probably 512 Megabytes or greater. If not the VPC
performance will be unacceptable.
