One machine won't behave in workgroup

Hi all

I have about five PCs at home, all running XP pro. I have them all set
up in a workgroup. However, one machine is giving me trouble, It can
see alll the other machines in the workgroup, but they can't see it.
However, they can see it if they give the IP address. E.g. I can enter:

\\192.168.0.66\

in explorer on any other machine and then I see the shared folders and
printer.

Oddly, I can ping the machine from other hosts using its NetBIOS name,
and if I do a dump of the LMB cache on othe rmachines I see the machine
listed with the correct name and address.

I've tried all sorts of things - disabling the firewall, having NetBIOS
set to automatic, having NetBIOS set to 'NetBIOS over TCP', running the
network setup wizard and disabling sharing and then running it again
and enabling sharing in the hope that this would work. Nothing has
helped so far. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

TIA

One of the most common causes of this problem would be a misconfigured or
overlooked personal firewall, or other security component. There are several
other possibilities too, and any might be the cause of your problem. Read this
article with an open mind. Some items in there might not be in your list of
"all sorts of things".

If no help yet, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each
computer, so we can diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked
articles, and follow instructions precisely (download browstat!):
