As stated in previous posts

I have...
AMD XP 3200+ - not yet fitted
1 gig of Geil Dual Channel DDR PC3200 ram
GeForce 5500
creative labs 5.1 card
2 hard disks
blah blah blah

anyway, more importantly I need to know the following

With a new mobo I'm getting through a bundle I'm getting a Asrock K7VT6 http://www.asrock.com/product/product_k7vt6.htm

I already have a Chaintech 7NJL3 (not the nForce 2 Ultra, Just the nForce 2 400 version..
http://www.chaintechusa.com/tw/eng/product_spec.asp?MPSNo=13&PISNo=172

Now, firstly which is the better board. I know they are budget boards, and eventually I will upgrade but for now these will have to do.

Now, I have noticed after looking at the webiste for the Asrock the rear part, where all the keyboard etc plugs in is completely different to the rear of my case!! I could with a bit of "gentle pursuasion" change the rear of my case, but I may be seeing this incorrectly. here http://www.asrock.com/images/(ICON)ASRockIOPLUS_BIG.jpg
However I think there is a panel around this area that i can take off so this will fit, however it will prob leave small gaps between the ports.

However IF, my current nForce mobo is the better board and WILL support the AMD 3200+ this should not be a problem...

but if you have the time, please please please check out the links and, give me your view asap, sorry that this is a bit wrong, but after spending a few hundred quid on my pc they should be delivered tomorrow, and I dont want to bugger it up.

If you want to check out my case, Its http://www.jeantech.com/Products/Cases/Fusion/fusion.html the PSU has been changed to a 550W today but other than that the case has been untampered.

Thank you very very much. Any help will be very much appreciated:)

Your new MB will come with its own "backing plate", so no worries there, just pop out the old one & insert the new.

There is not much to choose between them ... I like nForce chipsets over VIA.

cool, ok, so would you say that I should stick with the nForce? and that it WILL support my 3200+ AMD?

System clock supports 200/266/333/400MHz
... the nForce should have no problem supporting the 3200, if it does, use the other board. ;)

cool, in that case, I'll stick with the nForce for the time being, and give my dard disks a fresh format so i can take the full affect of my new parts....

Will give you an update on its new performance later on, and hopefully in a few days I'll have that nice gigabyte cooler as per the review on the front page of the site

Yipeeeee:p
