Onboard sound problem on A8N-E

B

Berthold

Hi,

I just build a new system with a A8N-E board using XP SP2
I installed the Asus drivers from the CD supplied.
The only problem I have is the onboard sound.
I can not activate the microphone and adjust the level e.g. TeamSpeak
is much to quiet. Others can not hear me well.

Any idea ?

Thanks,
Berthold

There is a forum here:

AC97 sound chips usually have a microphone boost button, that
increases the audio gain by 20dB. See if there is a microphone
boost button in the interface.

The latest Realtek drivers are here. Uninstall the current driver
and try something from here.
