"On this machine only" - How to disable?

In my Rules settings, when I make a new rule, it always defaults to "On
this machine only". I have no idea why this idiotic 'feature' was
thrown in to force its way by default. Can someone please tell me how
to disable it, thanks!!

Yes, thanks, but if you read my original post, I know that I need to
uncheck it in Rules. My question was how can I change the annoying
*default* condition where this feature is turned on everytime I create
a new rule? Or this another one of Outlook features that we have to
live with?

In my Outlook file I can no longer uncheck the "on this machine only"
condition on 3 recently created rules. This is very irritating. I have been
successfully using the same outlook.pst file on both my destop machine and my
laptop machine, by keeping the copy in "My Briefcase" on the laptop, and
setting Outlook on that machine to find it there. Everything works fine,
except the rules, which always fail the first time they are invoked after an
update from one machine to the other, i.e. on the machine that has just been
updated because I have either returned from a trip or set out on a trip.
However, all the rules without this condition can be reactivated and after a
short period of time work correctly on the updated machine. I could live
with the automatic creation of this condition as long as I could disable /
delete it, but being unable to do so is extremely frustrating. Does anyone
know if this is a result of some recent Office 2003 update?
