On-screen keyboard and comm port useage

We launch the On-screen keyboard (OSK) from the statup group and then launch
another program which uses serial port Com1. With the OSK running the Com
port is not available. We need to exit the OSK before running the program,
the OSK can then be lauched afterwards and both programs work correctly.

It seems that the OSK always takes the first un-opened com port, does any
one know a way to fix or change the port used by the OSK ?

I have been told by an engineer that this will solve the problem, I have
tested it out and it does work.

Power up the OSK
Choose 'settings'
Choose 'typing mode'
Select 'joystick or key to select'
Choose 'Advanced'
Untick box marked 'serial, parallel or game port'
Select 'ok'
Select 'click to select'
Select 'ok'

Thanks for posting back with your findings. It's nice to know there is a
workaround for specific cases/applications!
