Omsgclas.exe crashed and corrupted contacts in OL 2000

When converting existing contacts to an updated form we created, our IT guy had a problem with Omsgclas.exe. Half way through the conversion, the procedure gitched, and now we cannot access random contacts throughout Outlook 2000. When double-clicking on these contacts, a comment box appears that states, "The custom form could not be opened. Outlook will use an Outlook form instead. The object could not be found." After clicking "OK," a message form opens with the contact's name listed in Subject

How do we repair all our contacts and convert the 3,000 or so existing contacts to the new form? New contacts are utilizing the new form. Existing contacts still use the previous version of the form

Thanks so much.

This sounds more like a forms cache problem than anything else. Clearing the
cache usually fixes it. Choose Tools | Options | Other | Advanced Options |
Custom Forms, then click Manage Forms, then Clear Cache.

If the MessageClass property on some items is still pointing to the old
form's class, pick another tool from
http://www.slipstick.com/dev/newdefaultform.htm#convert to complete the
conversion. After you do that, grouping a table view on the Message Class
field will show you whether additional cleanup is necessary.

For future reference, you could have published the new form under the same
message class, just incrementing the version number. If you had done that,
no conversion of the MessageClass value would have been necessary.
