Old email addresses keep appearing

Paula Poopypants

One oif my email contacts has a new email address as
their company changed their domain name.

I have deleted and re-entered her correct email address
about half a dozen times in the address book and yet my
PC still thinks I am sending her emails to her old
domain.com instead of her new domain.com . When I entered
her name Nikki it defaults to the "olddomain.com" one
even though it is nowhere to be found on my PC. I have to
select her "newdomain.com" one from the address book for
it to work.

Has anyone experienced where Outlook is keeping this old
email address info? and no where I can purge it?
help !!

Thanks

Paula

It's in your autocomplete cache - highlight the erroneous name when it
prompts you, using your arrow keys, and hit the Delete key. The autocomplete
cache doesn't look up to your address books at all.

PS: Great nickname. ;-)

Paula,

Outlook is storing autocomplete address info. in an autocomplete file called
an *.NK2 file. If you want to delete a single entry, type the name, then
move down to the desired entry and delete it.

If you want to know more about this file we developed a utility that makes
editing, adding, deleting, etc. very easy. You can find it
www.dcs-imaging.com/products.htm. It's called Owtlook.
