OLAP Analysis Services Installation Big Problem.

Hi all,

I don't why the OLAP Analysis Service Setup file is runing under Process
job, after click setup. I am not sure that OLAP analysis service can't
support standard version yet ? Please help !!!

Your description of the issue is unclear. What are you referring to,
"Process job?" Also what are you referring to, "standard version?" OLAP
should start under the account Local System. As for standard version ????

Hi George,

My server is using windows 2000 server, and installed SQL Server Standard
Version.
I want to install OLAP analysis services. click "setup.exe" file to install.
It haven't any repsonse after run "setup.exe" file. I found that it is
runing windows process of task manager. Now, how can I do now ?

George Hester

When you start setup in SQL 2000 you should get a splash screen on which you
can choose OLAP Services. Do you get that? Sometimes SQL can take a long
time. Do you have any other instances of SQL installed? It almost sounds
like a permissions problem. When Windows cannot provide the correct
Security info to a application which needs that info one thing which can
happen is a hang. Make sure you are installing under the Administrator
account for the Server; all AntiVirus software OFF; delete your temp files
(all that you can); and reboot before attempting. Also make sure BITS
service is running and all services that are set to automatic DO start.

What is " BITS service is running and all services that are set to automatic
DO start." ??

Hi

I get the splash screen while put SQL Server on CD-ROM, but it haven't any
response. it is runing on Windows Process. I don't understand what do u mean
"instances of SQL installed" and "BITS service is runing" ? I am using Local
Administrator to install OLAP setup. How to all service that are set to
automatic DO start ? I try to running on olap setup file on another Windows
2000 Server. It is ok. Please advise.
