OL2007 SP2 (Win7) unable to send to large bcc list

M

muhahaha

OS Win7
Outlook 2007 SP2
Wifi connection Excellent

All hotfixes up to date.

When I try to send a brief (1k) message to about 50 people via BCC,
the system appears not to send the messages. I have not gotten
confirmation of receipt of the message from anyone.

A single BCC seems to work (but takes about a minute)
5 bcc's takes about 5 minutes. I have left it run overnight but
outlook still shows that it is sending to the BCC list.

All the email addresses have been reverified.

I have logging on but do not understand what it is telling me.

Any help would be appreciated.

TIA

So when you visit speedtest.net, what *upstream* speed do you have?

When I try to send a brief (1k) message to about 50 people via BCC,

What is the maximum recipient count allowed by your unidentified e-mail
provider?
the system appears not to send the messages.

And we are supposed to guess what "appears not to send" means? What
happens? Are the items stuck in the Outbox folder? When you open then and
Ctrl+S to create a copy in the Drafts folder, how big is the e-mail as shown
in the Size column in the Drafts folder?
I have not gotten
confirmation of receipt of the message from anyone.

That means nothing. It is highly unlikely that you will get a read receipt
from anyone. The default is to prompt the user that the sender requested a
read receipt. The user usually says No. Then they configure the e-mail
client to ignore such requests thereafter.

5 bcc's takes about 5 minutes. I have left it run overnight but
outlook still shows that it is sending to the BCC list.

Yet tried disabling the e-mail scanner in your unidentified anti-virus
program?
All the email addresses have been reverified.

If the e-mail addresses were incorrect, you would have gotten an error
message. You never mentioned getting one.
