I just finished working on a laptop with XP SP3 and Office 2003 SP3. It's
good, but now, and as the user says it always has been, Outlook takes
exactly 60 seconds before a message leaves the outbox, if Outlook is left
to its own devices. However, if he does a send/receive, its immediate.
His internet connection is Verizon wireless, Windows (and Outlook) are
looking at that connection as an "always on" LAN connection, Outlook's
send/receive options are "send immediately when connected", 15 minutes
between send/receive cycles, and the GMail IMAP account is appropriately
included and set up for the send/receive group.
It really does seem odd to me. Outlook, set up exactly the same way but
with many more accounts to deal with, is blazing on my rust-bucket P3/1.33.
It's like there's an intentional communications delay of 60 seconds in his
system somewhere.
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks.
