OL2003 Offline Global Address Book Not Updating

N

Neil

I have Outlook 2003,on Windows XP Pro, connecting to a
Win2K server, with Exchange 2K. Whenever I add a new user
to the server, the global address book is not updating in
Outlook 2003 on my PC. I use offline folders. Outlook
came pre-installed on the PC.

I've tried F9, I've tried 'Tools-Send/Receive/Download
Address Book...and every option in there'

The global address book on PC's running Outlook XP, and
Outlook 2000 updates fine.

Thanks for the help...Neil

If you are running Outlook 2003 in cached mode, it may not see the change
for up to 24 hours. This is due to Exchange 2000's default configuration of
rebuilding the offline address book once every 24 hours at 4 am. Therefore
you can do a couple of things...

1) Disabled cached mode and go back to a traditional connection
2) Reconfigure Exchange 2000 to rebuild the offline address book more
frequently

Sounds good. How do I switch from cached mode and go back
to a traditional connection? Is there a KB article that
discusses the two different types? Thanks for all the
help...Neil

Right click on Mailbox - Username folder and select properties | advanced.
I believe the checkbox is on the first tab.

Couldn't find a kb article that really describes cached vs traditional.
