OL2003 - Deleting special folders - NewsGator Inbox/Inbox Archive

Marlene Harkcom

I have two special folders in Outlook 2003 that were created by the NewsGator
RSS reader. I've uninstalled that product, but those two folders remain in
OutLook. I want to get rid of them, but get the "you can't delete special
files/folders" message. How can I get rid of them? I've tried a few
solutions I've found on the net, but nothing is working. I'd love to get rid
of them - but HOW???!?!?!?!

Thanks!

Newsgator's folders should be deletable - only the folders outlook creates
can't be deleted. Is this a folder named Inbox in a pst that Newsgator
used? If so, Outlook created it and you can only delete the contents. You
could make a new pst and move the things you want to keep to the new pst
then delete the old pst.

I assume it's a pst that Outlook created. I was able to delete all of the
other NewsGator folders. Just not these. There's nothing in them that I
want. I just want them *gone*. These folders are "NewsGator Inbox" and
"NewsGator Inbox Archive". I have no use for them since the product is gone.
It makes no sense to have folders created out there that I have no way to
get rid of...

If the pst only had newsgator messages, right click on the top level folder
and click Close.
