OL 2002 envelope icon not in taskbar despite settings

I cannot get the envelope email notification icon to
appear in the taskbar, despite having this option checked
in advanced email options. The notification sound plays
when an email comes in, but no icon. I have Outlook 2002
and Windows XP on a Pentium 4 with lots of available
memory. Does anyone have a solution for this? Knowledge
base was no help....Thanks, Carol


(To restore the Envelope icon in your system tray follow
the steps below.

Start Outlook
Click the Tools menu, Select Options.
On the Preferences Tab, Click E-mail Options.
Click Advanced E-mail Options.
Check to select the Show an envelope icon in the system
tray.)
