Offline Files

Hi,
I get the following message in my XP Pro event viewer every time I log on to
our NT4 domain.

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: Userenv
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1525
Date: 29/04/2004
Time: 07:55:57
User: DOMN1\User Name
Computer: SYSTEMX
Description:
Windows has detected that Offline Caching is enabled on the Roaming Profile
share - to avoid potential profile corruption, Offline Caching must be
disabled on shares where roaming user profiles are stored.

I've put My Documents into a different share now to my profile (though on
the same machine - running W2k server), but I still get the message. The
only way I've managed
successfully to stop the message occurring is by disabling offline files.
But this stops any offline synchronisation, and I don't want to do that.

Thanks in advance
Steve

By the way, one reason I need help with this is its not just my PC that's
affected. There are 4 other XP PCs recently bought and put on the domain, I
don't want any of them to have profile corruption! I also need to put a
proper share structure in place before upgrading any other machines.

Thanks!
Steve

Go to the properties of your Win2K share directory. Select the sharing tab
and click the caching button. Either uncheck the allow caching, or set to
manual.
