Offline files resets itself to OFF

I have to continually reset offline files to turn it on. This started
happening when I got a new laptop. Any idea why offline files won't stay ON?

Sony VAIO VGN-SZ120P/B
1 MB RAM
1.83 GHz Core Duo/Centrino
Windows XP Pro, SP2, all latest updates
Windows OneCare
Windows Defender
Office 2003 with latest updates
Offline files chosen are on a standard Microsoft Windows server

Thanks.

I had the same problem with my dell laptop. We have two Dell Laptops running
XP SP2 and we decided to synch certain documents off the server. The one
laptop worked perfectly first time, however my laptop kept resetting every
time I restarted my laptop.

What I notice when comparing the two laptops was the way they shut down and
started up. The one that worked used the welcome screen, while the one that
didn't used the classic logon prompt.

If you go into "Control Panel" - "User Accounts" - "Change the way users log
on or off" and select "Use the Welcome Screen", but do not check "Use fast
user switching".

After that insure that the "enable offline files" is selected.

This solved my problem.
