Offline Files Disconnecting

L

Les

Got three Win XP Pro laptop using the offline files
features. They sync with a SBS2000 server.
Intermittently the systray displays a message stating the
the offline files cache is not connected to the network.
The users then have to resync to get back online.
When the message is displayed, the notebooks are still on
the network and we can get to server resources.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Hello Jeffrey,
finally I have found someone else with the same issue as
me. I have been tracing this issue for a while now.
Basically I have tried editing the group policy and that
does not seem to have helped (in order to disable the SMB
signing that is causing this issue) . I have gone to :
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;810907
but although it tells you what files you require, it
doesn't say where?/ Please tell me that i'm being silly
and its easy to download, how did u get the magical
patch??? What did you have to do to install it???
any help would be greatly appreciated..
rob :)

Hi.
Has anyone obtained the fix and did it work?

This is a known issue and MS has issued both a hotfix or a
workaround...

Take a look at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN- US;810907 which
describes the hotfix you can obtain from MS at no cost.

The other option is to disable SMB signing via Group Policy.

You have to get the fix directly from MS... I used the online support
wizard at http://support.microsoft.com and asked for the hotfix
referenced in the KB article...
