Here is what I found on the Microsoft Help site. I tried it with Windows
Mail and it did not work. Good luck.

"Add your e-mail account to Microsoft Outlook
You can add your Windows Live Hotmail account to Microsoft Outlook and
access messages there.

To add your Windows Live Hotmail account to Microsoft Outlook:
Open Outlook, and then, on the Tools menu, click E-mail accounts.
Click Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next.
Click HTTP, and then click Next.
Under User Information and under Logon Information, type the appropriate
information. To help us protect your privacy, clear the Remember password
check box unless you're the only person with access to the computer. Do not
select the Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) check box.
In the HTTP Mail Service Provider list, make sure that Hotmail is selected.
Click Next, and then click Finish.
Notes
After you set up your Windows Live Hotmail account in Outlook, your Windows
Live Hotmail folders appear in the Outlook folder list.
To access your Windows Live Hotmail calendar and contacts with Outlook, you
must purchase and install Microsoft Office Live. To get the latest version of
Microsoft Office Live, visit the Microsoft Office Live website.
You must have paid for a Windows Live Hotmail subscription to use your
account with Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Outlook Express."
