Office Crashes when Contacts are Selected

Got Office 2007 running with Windows Vista. I've checked all the updates and
yet Outlook 2007 crashes when I click on the Contacts icon. Office restarts
each time, but if I loose any work (i.e. emails) that were open when at the
time. The crashes occur intermittently (7 out of 10 times). I've ran the
Office diagnostic tools and everything checks ok. I am running Spysweeper
along with Windows defender (no Norton software!). Any ideas what might be
causing Outlook to crash?

You have BCM installed? Just checking...

Luther,

Negative. Only additional software running on Windows Vista is Spysweeper
and Defender. Again, I am suprised Microsoft hasn't said anything about
this, since my Outlook consistently crashes when I click on My Contacts.
Don't believe it is a hardware issue, since none of my many other
applications have problesm running. Also, I do frequent Windows updates to
esnure I have the latest patches. If you can think of anything else that
might help solve this mistery (assuming there is a fix), I'll be most
grateful. Cheers.

Luther,

Follow-up to my response. I went to the Microsoft site and it looks like
Office Enterprise 2007 already comes with BCM integrated into the contacts.
So I don't think it can be uninstalled. I am obviosuly not an expert in this
matter. I did find other postings describing the same problem, so I know I
am not alone...

If you have BCM installed, it should show up in the Add/Remove
programs.

If you don't use it, uninstall it.

If the problem persists, try your query on microsoft.public.outlook.
