Office button – Access options -- Current database

FR

I found the following on a help screen:

Office button – Access options -- Current database – Ribbon & Toolbar options

Allow Full Menus When this check box is cleared, all tabs on the default
Ribbon are hidden with the exception of the Home tab. In addition, only the
Close Database and Exit Access commands are available when you click the
Microsoft Office Button .
NOTES
You must close and reopen the current database for the specified setting
to take effect.
To temporarily restore the default Ribbon and Microsoft Office Button
commands, close the database, and then reopen the database while holding down
the SHIFT key. After using this method to open the database, you can
permanently restore the default Ribbon and Microsoft Office Button commands
by returning to the Access Options dialog box, and then under Current
Database, under Ribbon and Toolbar Options, selecting the Allow Full Menus
check box.

I cleared the "Allow Full Menus" box and it worked. Unfortunately when I
tried to reverse it by "reopening the database while holding down the shift
key" it didn't work. Now I can't make any changes on this database. Can
someone help me?

Thanks

When you open the database, make sure to hold the shift key down until it is
open. If you have the Option that shows up where you have to click OK to
enable the code, you need to keep holding the shift key down during that as
well.

Thanks, you steered me in the right direction. But I also had to keep the
shift key down while resetting the "Allow Full Menus" checkbox.

Much obliged

Press the shift key five times and try again, it worked for me.
