Office 2000, 98 to XP

I recently bought a new computer. My old computer had
Windows 98 with Office 2000 Std SR-1. When I tried to
install Office 2000 from the SR-1 CD on my XP, I got:
error 1608, could not find previously installed compliant
product. I can't access my old machine as it is trashed.
What can I do to get Office 2000 loaded onto my XP?

Your Office 2000 CD must be an Upgrade one, that needs a 'qualifying'
version of Office around before it will install. You can probably find
an Office 97 CD somewhere - try computer fairs or eBay
