OEM 64bit to 32bit

My parents have Vista Home Premium 64-bit installed on their new
computer, but they're having trouble with hardware drivers, etc. so I
thought I'd install 32-bit. Under their system information they have
an OEM product key, and the 32-bit installation disc I have is also
OEM. Will their product key work if I do a new installation off the 32-
bit disc?

If this is a new Vista PC it ought to be covered by
the vendor's warranty.

Where from?

It's a Dell bought at Office Depot. The main thing they would like to
run is the sync software for Palm cell phones... It absolutely doesn't
work with 64-bit.

I don't know of any programs that require 64-bit Windows. I will
upgrade to 64-bit someday will be when my system requires more than
4 GB of RAM. Currently, it rarely reaches 1.5 GB usage.

If it was an Office Depot employee's suggestion to sell your parents
a Dell with 64-bit Windows, they goofed. In that case, I would ask
Office Depot to take care of it.

As far as I know, OEM version can only be 32-bit or 64-bit, not both (as
in the Retail version). Contact the shop that sold your parents the PC
to change it.
