OE to IE6 link problem

When I receive emails from stores and online retailers such as Lowe's, AMX,
amazon, etc, the embedded links in the email open a page in ie6. However,
the links in the HP newsletter opens the "server not found" page. An example
is: http://link.p0.com/t.d?CFbxa-mo1=hp/info/hho-ng-feb07-psc1315 which does
not work.
If I open the newsletter in gmail and use Firefox, the link is:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...g=en&jumpid=ex_R602_info/hho-ng-feb07-psc1315
which does work.

If I use gmail and link to ie6, I get the non-working URL. I do not have an
oe to Firefox setup so I can not try that.

I think the problem is in my ie6 setup since the gmail/Firefox combo works.
I have emailed HP and asked them but have not had an answer.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

The problem is now fixed although I am not sure how. In the past when I got
the "can not find server" message, I would try renaming the MVP HOSTS file
but it never worked for the HP newsletter. Today, I registered the 6 files
that are listed in KB281679 and now rename hosts lets the HP links work. As
I said in my first post, most links except the HP newsletter worked.

To HOSTS or NOHOSTS?
