OE 6 password request

system requests password each time I start up OE. this just started. Cannot
get the system to recognize that the change made when I go to
accounts -mail-properties-server and type in the password, click on apply
and then okay . had dsl tech support work with my system remotely and they
allege that it is a software problem. they checked all settings, etc. they
had no luck in setting the password so that I would not have to enter it
everytime that OE 6 was initiated.

Looked at microsoft help pages but can't seem to find anything approaching
this difficulty. Would appreciate any thoughts or ideas.
