ODBC driver installed but not showing in driver list

Hello all,

I am trying to install the latest Oracle RDB driver (version 3.01.00.02)
on a Windows XP system. I have installed it twice before without incident.

On this one PC, however, something is not right. I run the installer,
which states everything is kosher. Sure enough, the two instances of
Oracle folders appear in the Start / Programs menu as expected.

Yet when I invoke the ODBC Sources Administrator from Administrative
Tools, the driver does not appear.

The only thing of note is that the drive is used as a file server and is
85% full. Other than that, I can see no obviously unusual item or symptom.

Any ideas?

Well, I found a fix, sort of. I copied the relevant registry entries
from an equivalent system (O/S, H/W,...) and pasted them into the
affected systems (up to 2 now). The System DSN entry now shows up fully
configured. All I need now is confirmation from the user that it worked.
