NVidia GeForce FX 5200

I'm going to post this here too, since it's relevant.
Trying to get as much input as possible.

Anybody else have problems with this card?

I enjoy playing games, whether they be mmorpg or
something else like HALO or Hitman: Contracts.

I have video lag that absolutely should NOT be there.

System Specs: (self built)
P4 3.2 GHz 800Mhz FSB 512K with HT
1024 MB Dual-Channel PC3200 DDR RAM
Intel desktop board with the 875 chipset
Dual Western Digital S-ATA 74 gig drives in a RAID 0 array
And the 5200
SP1, all updates, all current drivers, DX 9.0b

I think it's a serious bottleneck at the video card. For
8x AGP it sure doesn't act like it.

I'm starting to think, why did I put so much money into
this computer to go to Wal-mart and pull this piece of
crap off the shelf?

I'm thinking it has to do with the memory frequency or
something on the card. I think I've seen another post
that the memory frequency actually isn't that high,
around 266 MHz or so.

A 5200 Gpu hasn't enough grunt to even utilize 8x Agp.
You would be better off purchsing a 9800Pro they are getting quite
affordable these days.

Relatively speaking, the FX5200 is not a really good gaming card.

It's pretty low end if gaming was what you wanted to do with it...

Your video card is definitely the bottleneck in your system.

Yeah. It worked well in my old system and I figured it
could work even better in my new one. I know a person I
can give it to that it would benefit a lot.

The only question remains...I'm making enough money...My
PC is one impressive machine...I want to keep up the
progress with top-of-the-line stuff.

The Age Old Question...

ATI, or NVidia.

Looks like NVidia released the Ultra version of their new
6800. The 6800 and the X800 are so close right now it's
insane.

I don't think you could go wrong with either of them. ATI
is considerably less expensive though.

Wait a month and you'll have another gpu to spend ridiculous amounts of
money on.
